The successful candidate:

Work Schedule:

  • Hours are 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM or 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

  • Monday and Tuesday are clinic days in Zion.

  • Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are clinic days in Morton Grove.

TheCertified/Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA)plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of patients through the clinic. This multifaceted position involves performing both clinical and administrative tasks to support patient care. Under the direct supervision of the Practice Manager, Director, Medical Oncologist, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant, the CMA/RMA utilizes their training to assist clinicians in providing medical care and ensuring an excellent patient experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform delegated patient care tasks for an assigned patient population.

  • Conduct clinical tasks and administrative duties as assigned by the Department Leader.

  • Assist with triage phone calls and provide clerical support between patients, caregivers, physicians, care managers, and clinical service departments.

  • Coordinate documentation and order supplies.

  • Adhere to policy and procedure guidelines in all responsibilities.

Experience:

  • At least one year of experience within the last three years in a comparable job classification.

  • Minimum of three years of medical assistant or nursing assistant experience in a hospital or clinic setting.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Completion of an approved Medical Assistant (MA) Training Program, or

  • Completion of an unapproved medical assistant training program and passage of the medical assistant examination administered by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), or other national certification/registration programs, or

  • Completion of a United States Armed Forces medical services training program.

  • Completion of relevant and applicable clinical program.

Certification:

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or relevant and applicable certification.

      Salary / Pay Rate Information:
      Pay Rate: $17.71 - $27.35 / hour

      The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
