Primary Purpose of PositionThis position is responsible for administering and maintaining orderly operation of the North Carolina A&T State University, Willie A. Deese College of Business and Economics’ technology throughout Craig and Merrick Halls inclusive of computer labs, classrooms, conference rooms, faculty and departmental offices, centers (e.g. the Financial Trading Room and CEEI), and common areas.
The IT Instructional/Classroom Support Professional is required to work closely with other Deese College of Business and Economics’ technology support technicians as well as the University’s Client Technology Services’ staff. This position reports to the Dean of the Deese College.
Primary Function of Organizational Unit
N.C. A&T is a public, land-grant, doctoral research institution, and has been the largest historically Black university in the country for the past decade. Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar discipline.
Knowledge of and proficiency in a variety of hardware, software, operating systems, and network protocols.
Proficiency with productivity tools such as M/S Word, Excel; with presentation tools (PowerPoint, Prezi); and various software and applications used in a college of business.
Proficiency with Visual BASIC (or other programming language(s)), with managing operating systems, and with database management.
Proficiency with installation of computers and other technology, imaging computers, and repairs.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Two or more years of hands-on work in a technical support position (i.e., Helpdesk, IT Tech, Field Tech) or equivalent of training and experience.
Excellent communication, teamwork, customer-service, and time management skills.
Required License or Certification
Is this position eligible for a remote or hybrid work arrangement, consistent with university and state policies. On-site (Employees are primarily in the office and/or have a critical job requirement that requires dedicated office space on-site)
