Summary
A postdoctoral research associate in Synthetic Organic/Medicinal Chemistry is available at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. The successful candidate is expected to have recently obtained PhD degree and a track record of publications in the field. The main job duty is to design and synthesize compounds targeting biologically/pharmaceutically important proteins for the treatment of cancer, stroke and other diseases. In addition, he/she will receive training in computational drug design, biochemistry and cell biology techniques for testing compound activities. Job Duties
- Designs and synthesizes compounds that are potential inhibitors of chemical probes of proteins implicated in cancer or other diseases.
- Analyzes experimental data and report results.
- Writes technical reports and manuscripts.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- PhD degree in organic chemistry or closely related chemistry.
