Summary
The Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center is seeking a faculty for Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center (DLDCCC) and the Center for Precision Environmental Health (CPEH).
Job Duties
- Identify areas for strategic growth and development, including emerging research themes, programmatic efforts, leaders, recruitment, and education opportunities that would further integrate and strengthen Quantitative Sciences across the DLDCCC and integrate with wider BCM efforts.
- Represent data science and computational biology interests at the senior leadership level of the DLDCCC, and work closely with leaders of all programs to increase the engagement of data science investigators.
- Ensure representation of data science needs across DLDCCC activities, including research retreats and symposia.
- Work with the Associate Director for Cancer Research Training and Education Coordination (CRTEC) to identify opportunities for new funding, training, and educational opportunities.
- Participate in senior leadership efforts, including grant and proposal review for special opportunities, strategic planning, institutional grant preparation, including the Cancer Center Support Grant (CCSG), site visit planning, engagement with development and fundraising activities, and other activities at the Director’s discretion.
- Work with the DLDCCC Director to develop translational, transdisciplinary research bridging computational, laboratory, and clinical sciences.
- Engage the Center in the other BCM-wide data science efforts, including, but not limited to, the Human Genome Center, Learning Health System, and external partnerships.
- Engage with and cross-fertilize initiatives with Departments and other Centers to recruit and develop appropriate experts and faculty in Computational and Data Sciences and related areas.
- Develop and maintain an externally funded research program that will support the research activities of you and your research lab personnel, consistent with College expectations.
- Undergo annual faculty performance evaluation with the Center Director.
Minimum Qualifications
MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree
