Job Description Summary:

The Coordinator, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program, is responsible for the coordination, management, compliance, and continuous improvement of the Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP). This position ensures compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations; oversees curriculum, instruction, student records, and instructor supervision; supports student success and certification readiness; and serves as the primary point of accountability for program quality, regulatory readiness, and operational effectiveness. This position will also serve as the State of Texas NATCEP Director.
Job Description:

Description of Duties and Tasks

Coordinate various aspects of the CNA Program in collaboration with internal and external partners and stakeholders.

Develop, implement, and evaluate the CNA/NATCEP curriculum to ensure alignment with state and federal requirements and industry standards.

Develop educational materials and teaching strategies that support learning needs.

Oversee clinical learning opportunities including organizing practicum/internship sites with affiliated partners.

Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and performance of program instructors to ensure program quality, student success metrics, and regulatory compliance. Implement improvement plans as needed.

Provide guidance, feedback, and support to students throughout the program, including nursing pathway advising and general academic advising to promote student success, progression, and program completion.

Respond to student concerns, questions, and suggestions for improvement with responsiveness, professionalism, and a student-centered approach.

Develop, analyze, and implement community needs assessments for new courses and programs.

Promote and provide information on courses and programs. Assist with creating and maintaining forms, web resources, and marketing materials; maintain listservs. Promote programs through numerous network channels; interfaces with community organizations and internally to represent the CNA program.

Serve as communication liaison with area employers, industry specific professional organizations and advisory boards, prospective students, and other groups to support collaboration and promotional efforts.

Monitor and evaluate student attendance, academic progress, skills performance, and clinical readiness.

Coordinate administrative and operational functions related to course and program implementation, including instructional materials, payroll support, budget, and resource management. Oversee logistics for facilities, equipment, and resources to ensure the effective delivery of courses and programs. Ensure labs and equipment are current, functional, and aligned with industry training standards.

Research and develop new practicum and internship sites to expand student learning opportunities.

Maintain documentation related to instructor qualifications, clinical placement, program approval, and regulatory compliance.

Interview, hire, assign, oversee, and mentor program instructors. Ensure that all program instructors have required skills and certifications/licenses.

Oversee workflow and work priorities of administrative support staff who assist with coordination in the CNA program.

Coordinate with industry partners to provide training for their clients. Serves on business and community advisory boards and ACC committees; attend professional conferences, state and local agency meetings, and professional organizations to support professional development.

Collaborate with ACC academic departments to ensure delivery of integrated courses, when appropriate, and opportunities for internships, clinicals, jobs, and stackable credentials.

Assist with providing expertise for grant applications and other special projects.

Teach program course work, as assigned.

Knowledge ​

Knowledge of program administration, documentation, accreditation/regulatory compliance, instructor oversight

Operational coordination needed to ensure high-quality program delivery and adherence to state, federal, and institutional standards.

Skills ​

Demonstrated ability to support learners through responsive advising, academic guidance, and student-centered problem-solving that promotes persistence, progression, and completion.

Developing, implementing, evaluating, and refining education programs and curriculum using student outcomes, community needs, regulatory requirements, and continuous quality improvement practices.

Ability to build and sustain productive relationships with internal departments, clinical partners, employers, community organizations, advisory boards, and other stakeholders to strengthen program quality, student opportunity, and workforce alignment.

Ability to design and deliver effective educational materials, teaching strategies, and learning experiences that support varied learning needs, clinical readiness, and preparation for certification and employment.

Technology Skills ​

Use a variety of instructional tools, spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and software.

Required Work Experience ​

Two (2) years of nursing experience, with at least one year in long- term care including supervision of nurse aides.

One (1) year teaching experience in an adult education setting.

Required Education and Licensure ​

Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field from an accredited institution and current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Texas.

Special Requirements ​

Reliable transportation needed for local Austin area travel.

Physical Requirements

Work is performed in a standard office or similar environment.

Occasional lifting of objects up to 10 pounds.
