TheRegisteredDietitian will provide individualized medical nutrition therapy,educationand counseling to patients, helping them to regain and/or improve their health.This role works collaboratively with other health disciplines and departments to optimize nutrition care and patient experience.By taking on this opportunity, you will be provided with hands-on learning as well as the chance to continue your education.


APRNcaregiver in this positionworks3 8-hour shifts per week from 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday with alternating weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Provide direct patient care using medical nutrition therapy for an assigned patient population.
  • Provide counseling and education services to patients with disease processes that require nutritional management.
  • Implement a nutritional care plan, communicate plan,establisha follow-upsystemandmaintaindocumentation.
  • Write changes for diet orders andinitiatenutrient intake assessments.
  • Assess patients for signs and symptoms of nutritional deficiencies and evaluate appropriatefluidand electrolytes.
  • Review laboratory and clinical progress notes and inform physicians of patients' nutritional status and need for changes in diet.
  • Coordinate efforts of dietetictechnicianassigned toarea.
  • Develop and contribute to Cleveland Clinic sponsored education programs for physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, students,peersand the public.
  • Create and revise education materials related to disease management through medical nutrition therapy.
  • Participate in program development designed to market and expand departmental services and revenue generation.
  • Market services to potential and current referral sourcesanddevelop andimplementservices in response to client's needs and wants.
  • Actively contribute to departmental initiatives, including committees and projects.
  • Support the dietetic internship program as a supervised practice rotation preceptor and class instructor.
  • Complete reports for ongoing productivity tracking.
  • Participate in professional growth activities.
  • Attend andcontributeto conferences and seminars on nutrition and related topics.
  • Represent Cleveland Clinic on nutrition related matters.
  • Conduct clinical research andutilizeclinical software applications tofacilitatecare.
  • Comply withall regulatory organizations including CMS, JCAO, ADA and policies and procedures of the department and Cleveland Clinic.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics or a closely related field
  • Maintain current license to practiceDietetics in thestate of Florida(LD)
  • Active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD)
  • One year of experience as a Registered Dietitian in clinical nutrition
  • OR successful completion of a Dietetic Internship Program

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Prior EPIC experience
  • Prior hospital experience

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to navigate extensively to provide services to a large number of patients throughout the hospital and manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer entry.
  • Must have physical ability to measure and weigh patients.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
