Occupational Therapists provide many wide-ranging services tohelp patients improve their ability toperform normal activities of daily living.Whether from aphysical injury, stroke,cognitive differences,surgeryor general aging,your work as an OT helpsmaximize their confidence in performingself-care,workingand managing life responsibilities.
This is a full-time role. A caregiver in this position will work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm for the first 90 days. After the first 90 days there will be a late day working 10:00am to 6:30pm and one day from 9:15pm to 5:45pm. No weekends or holidays required.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional,cognitiveand/or psychosocial deficits whichimpacttheir abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.
- Assess patient ability tosafely and effectively perform independent living skills and design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
- Implement the treatment plan usingappropriate modalitiesand document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
- Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
- Direct and supervise the activities of support personnel.
- Acta clinical instructor orparticipatein the education and evaluation of students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
- Basic Life Support (BLS), HealthcareProviderCertificationthrough the American Heart Association (AHA)or American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Experience in clinical area
- Experience working with lymphedema, certification with lymphedema also preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.
Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $69,600.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $106,132.50
