Job DescriptionThe Department of Educational Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno invites applications for an Assistant Professor position, beginning July 1, 2027. We seek an individual with expertise in instructional technology, learning design, and quantitative methods. The selected individual will develop an active research and publication agenda, teach undergraduate and graduate courses, provide advising support to graduate students, supervise doctoral students and dissertations, seek external funding, and provide service to the department, college, university, and the profession. This position requires an on-campus presence and is not possible to be performed remotely.
Required Qualifications
An earned doctorate in education or a related field by August 2027.
Expertise that supports teaching in one or more of the following: data analytics for educational research, educational measurement and assessment, instructional design and technology, and AI in education.
Evidence of scholarly productivity or potential for conducting rigorous educational research using quantitative methods.
Evidence of, or potential for, effective graduate-level teaching across in-person, hybrid, and online modalities.
Preferred Qualifications
While areas of research and teaching are open, the search committee will prioritize candidates who have:
Training and expertise in instructional design, educational technology, educational psychology, computer science/informatics, and/or cognitive science.
Experience mentoring and advising graduate students.
Experience as a teacher or administrator in school settings.
Experience in curriculum development.
A sustainable research agenda with demonstrated success or pursuit of external funding.
