Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
University Advancement elevates UNCG’s reputation, advances institutional strategy, and fosters community pride through integrated communications aligned with its public mission as a student-centered research university. The department develops and executes strategic communications and marketing initiatives that enhance visibility, engage key audiences, and convey the University’s distinctive value. Working across schools, colleges, and administrative units, University Communications manages media relations, marketing campaigns, content strategy, branding, digital engagement, sponsorships, and crisis communications.
Position Summary
The Enrollment Communications Platform Manager is a strategic communications professional within University Communications’ Brand Marketing team. This role builds and sustains an enrollment communications ecosystem that is efficient, adaptable, and manageable over time. The position assesses communication needs, recommends smart use of CRM tools, and designs solutions that are effective now and sustainable for future cycles. Reporting to the Director of Enrollment Communications, this position oversees mass messaging to prospective, admitted, and current students, as well as parents, families, and other stakeholders. The role sets direction for how enrollment communications are organized, sequenced, measured, and improved across Slate Technolutions CRM, Ocelot Chatbot, and Emma email system.

The position supervises the Enrollment Communications Platform Specialist and serves as a power user of mass marketing tools. This role partners with technical application administrators while staying focused on communications strategy. The role uses platform tools to segment audiences, build queries, create communication flows, manage reports, and design email and portal content using HTML, CSS, and related tools.

The Enrollment Communications Platform Manager consults with the Director of Enrollment Communications and Enrollment Management leaders, serves on the Strategic Enrollment Processes Committee, and works with Brand Marketing and Campus Partnerships to align campaign strategy, timing, audiences, lead capture, tracking, and follow-up efforts with institutional priorities.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, digital design, or a closely related field.
Minimum of three (3) years of experience managing mass communications within a CRM platform in a marketing context.
Demonstrated proficiency with enrollment or marketing CRM platforms (e.g., Slate/Technolutions, Salesforce, or equivalent).
Experience building audience segments, automated workflows, and communication campaigns within a CRM system.
Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to drive platform decisions and communications strategy.
Organized, detail-oriented approach to platform administration, data management, and deadline tracking.
Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.



Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience as a Slate (Technolutions) power user in a higher education enrollment context.
Demonstrated ability to evaluate communication needs, recommend better approaches, and improve CRM or mass communication processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
Experience supervising CRM, data, or marketing technology staff.
Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and styling tools to create consistent, visually effective communications.
Experience with email deliverability best practices, FERPA compliance, and CAN-SPAM regulations in a communications context.
