Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provide visionary leadership and serve as the primary liaison connecting faculty with university administration, as well as faculty with students.
2. Oversee curriculum development and implementation across three academic programs: Industrial Technology (IT), Engineering Technology (ET), and Occupational, Safety, Health and Environment (OSH&E), ensuring alignment
with industry trends and academic standards.
3. Lead efforts to assess student learning outcomes and program effectiveness.
4. Manage and allocate the department’s budget to effectively support academic, research, and operational needs.
5. Champion and expand high-impact research research initiatives by driving interdisciplinary collaboration and helping faculty to secure external funding.
6. Foster an inclusive environment that supports faculty development and rewards excellence in teaching, research, and service.
7. Drive initiatives that align with department, college, and university strategic goals, advancing the reputation and impact of the department's degree programs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral degree in a discipline closely related to Engineering, Industrial Technology, or OSH&E by hire date.
A proven record of excellence in research, teaching, and leadership, with qualifications that support appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated success in academic administration, with experience in leading teams and managing budgets and programs, or relevant industry experience that can be leveraged to enrich the classroom instruction and connect theory with real-world practice.
Proven track record of building and sustaining strategic partnerships with regional industry partners to advance departmental growth, align programs with evolving workforce technologies, and expand student career opportunities.
A strong record of excellence in research and teaching that reflects commitment to high academic standards and innovative practices.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders and foster an inclusive environment.
Demonstrated commitment to equal opportunity and providing a supportive environment for everyone in an academic or industry setting.
Experience with the procedures for maintaining ABET and/or ATMAE accreditation, including program assessment for student advising and student outcomes, continuous improvement processes, and compliance with accreditation standards.
